In the beginning I had 3 month subscriptions on MegaUpload, Rapidshare and Hotfile, just to test them out. Now I only renew my year-subscription on MU : I downloaded twice as much as both the others together and the speed was always high and the results reliable, not so for the other two.
I've never tried Mediafire, so can't give an opinion about it.

My suggestion. Just buy lifetime.. if you renew yearly you might as well.

Most anime is hosted on MU anyway.. at least it is these days.

TBH I love MegaUpload, I was really big on torrenting things before, but that has slowed down drastically ever since I got a premium MU account, I use it for practically everything. Nonetheless, MediaFire is actually quite good, I don't think they throttle their speeds, nor is there a wait time, and files are downloaded fairly quickly. I'm not sure why more people don't use it, might be because they remove stuff fast.

Upload limit is too small so people cbs uploading to them.

That's it of course, the speed of removing files is what irks me most. MU is mostly after 6 months if not refreshed , which is reasonable.
And Bottlehead, a lifetime subscription doesn't mean as much to me as it would to you ! (see age: )

nah.. I reckon.. since you've already been downloading and watching this type of stuff for quite a while.. you can go a few more years without losing interest.

I only bought mine cause I had enough of using cracked accounts.
